Would you like to volunteer in the garden at Hutton?

Keeping the gardens looking wonderful requires a lot of work, and so we are always pleased to hear from people who are interested in volunteering in the garden through the summer and beyond.

Volunteering is suited for people who are friendly and enthusiastic – whatever the weather! The work involves various horticultural tasks, including weeding, planting out, raking, pruning and dead-heading. Volunteers are managed directly by Head Gardener Ben, and so this is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more about plants and gardening from an experienced expert.

Ideally you would be able to commit half a day a week on Mondays, Tuesdays or Fridays, but we can be flexible.

Please get in touch with House Administrator Pamela to organise a try-out day.
